What Is Emsella?
The Emsella Chair is a pelvic floor treatment that delivers thousands of painless muscle contractions in each session.
This means:
Stronger pelvic floor muscles
Better bladder control
Enhanced circulation and sensation
Improved sexual satisfaction
You’ll sit upright and fully clothed in a quiet treatment room. Most patients read or relax while the chair does the work.
“I can run and jump without having to stop.”
Who Is Emsella For?
Emsella may be right for you if you:
Deal with bladder leaks when sneezing, laughing, or exercising
Plan your days around bathroom access
Wake up at night to use the bathroom
Want improved pelvic floor and sexual health
Wish for more control without surgery or pills
“The Emsella chair helps with incontinence — but I’m thrilled with the other result…stronger orgasms.”
Michelle B.
How Emsella Works
Each session:
- Delivers the equivalent of 11,000 Kegels
- Triggers painless supramaximal contractions that go beyond what you can do voluntarily
- Improves neuromuscular control and circulation
“I am sleeping longer, getting up less often at night, and sleeping deeper. This is a miracle in my life.”
Howard F.
Emsella for Women
Many women experience pelvic floor weakness due to childbirth, hormonal changes, or age.
Emsella offers a simple, private way to rebuild pelvic floor strength — without surgery or medication. It can even be an alternative or supplement to pelvic floor therapy.
Emsella for Men
Pelvic floor weakness in men can contribute to urinary urgency, bladder leaks, interrupted sleep, or changes in sexual function — especially with age or prostate issues.
Emsella helps restore control and confidence, privately and comfortably.
Meet Dr. Elise Atkins
Board-Certified Physician in Santa Cruz, CA
When I founded Coastal Vitality MD a few years ago, I didn’t anticipate that treating urinary incontinence, nighttime urination and sexual health would necessarily be part of my practice. But when I learned of the Emsella chair and all it could do, I knew I had to bring it to Santa Cruz.
Hearing people tell me that they feel free to walk on the beach or hike in the mountains again; that they sleep peacefully through the night; or that they experience greater sexual satisfaction fills me with joy.
If you feel that treatment with the Emsella chair may help you lead your healthiest life, then I look forward to talking with you!
Emsella FAQ
What is urinary incontinence?
Urinary incontinence is involuntary leakage of urine, which may occur with coughing, sneezing or laughing, or when you simply can’t get to a bathroom in time.
What causes urinary incontinence?
Weakened pelvic floor muscles from age and other physiologic changes often lead to urinary incontinence. Contributing factors may include pregnancy or menopause for women and enlarged prostate or prostatectomy (prostate removal) for men. Having a strong pelvic floor plays an important role in supporting the organs and maintaining bladder control.
What is the protocol for Emsella?
Each session lasts about 30 minutes, with a typical course requiring six sessions scheduled twice weekly. Sometimes additional sessions are needed for optimal resolution of symptoms.
What does an Emsella treatment feel like?
You will experience tingling and painless muscle contractions during the procedure. You may resume your usual daily activities (including exercise and intimacy) immediately after treatment.
How fast will I see results from Emsella treatments?
Many people see results within a few weeks of starting treatment — some within days! — with maximum results seen within a month or two of completion.
What else is Emsella good for?
In addition to treating bladder leaks, Emsella helps reduce nighttime urination and enhance sexual satisfaction.
“My pelvic floor has been restored and I can now do all of my physical activities with total confidence.”
